This poem was horrific, it makes you wanna cry. These two young people had a horrible life. The way Johnny’s was ended was so bad. It reminds you of all the stories you hear of the Jim Crow era.

I thought that this was such a sad poem. It is a conversation a mother is having with a child she chose not to have. You can almost hear the guilt in every line she felt for what she had done. A regret that will follow her for the rest of her life.

I thought this was a really cute poem I love how she used rhyme to tell this story and to express her point. Although the poem is short it still tells a story a beginning, a middle, and a end.
