I thought the poem was kinda of sad. How they tried to express their love to a dying man not knowing if what they were doing was helpful at all. You can almost sense the saddness in this poem.

This poem was horrific, it makes you wanna cry. These two young people had a horrible life. The way Johnny’s was ended was so bad. It reminds you of all the stories you hear of the Jim Crow era.

 I thought that this was such a sad poem. It is a conversation a mother is having with a child she chose not to have. You can almost hear the guilt in every line she felt for what she had done. A regret that will follow her for the rest of her life.
